MSCASA Requirements

17. SCRUTINY:
Competing cars shall comply by Technical Appendix Schedule A & Schedule B of the Motorsport Australia Manual
17a. Road registered vehicles need no special preparation other than an approved fire extinguisher & a blue triangle battery marker & all forward facing glass lights be covered with a transparent adhesive film.

  • The fire extinguisher Technical Appendix, Schedule H must be at least 1kg, standard AS1841, securely mounted (no tek screws) and the date stamped into the bottle must less than 3 years ago. It must be in reasonable reach of the driver when seated.
  • Safety Cage Structure is compulsory for all open vehicles and highly recommended for all other vehicles. However, these can be of a Motorsport Australia non-compliant structure provided it is not deemed unsafe by the Chief Scrutineer.
  • ALL Drivers MUST wear a Motorsport Australia approved helmet whenever on the circuit, seat belt or harness, goggles/visor (where applicable). Drivers must wear flame resistant (cotton or wool) clothing from the neck to wrist to ankle and including suitable footwear whenever on the circuit. All apparel must comply with Technical Appendix Schedule D of the Motorsport Australia Manual.
  • Working brake lights are COMPULSORY on all vehicles for Supersprints. Any car suffering damage or mechanical failure during the Event, must return to Scrutiny for inspection prior to continuing. Cars considered unsafe or unsuitable will be precluded from further competition.
  • Cars must conform to maximum noise level of 95dB at 30 metres from the track edge.
  • Targeted scrutineering will be done during the day
